Zovirax Cold Sore Cream contains the active ingredient aciclovir, which is used for the treatment of cold sores (sores that are caused by the herpes simplex virus). Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is applied to the affected area 5 times a day. Apply the cream to the affected area 5 times a day. Wash your hands after applying the cream. If the cream gets stuck, you may get a burning pain in your eye that lasts longer. Wash your hands again after applying the cream. Do not use any cosmetics or hair-care products while applying the cream.
This medicine is only for you. It is not for use in children. It may cause birth defects in babies. This medicine is not recommended for women of childbearing age. Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you: have or have had any of the following medical conditions: asthma, liver, kidney, heart, or lung disease, or if you are taking any medicines called "quinolones" (used for treating HIV infection). If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. Zovirax Cold Sore Cream contains an inactive ingredient that may cause allergic reactions or other adverse effects in newborns.
